Hi everyone. I wanted to thank the New Jersey Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society for sharing some of my fundraising information in the Captain’s Corner of their website.
I will be walking with my team, Team New Horizons, in Roxbury on April 15. You can join my team as a walking participant, a volunteer or a virtual walker. Our goal as a team is to raise $2,500 for our cause.
We are slowly but surely reaching that goal. I am confident that we will succeed. To help in the cause, through the months of March and April, I am donating 10 percent of book sales from MS - Living Symptom Free to fundraising for Walk MS. So for every book, a portion of the proceeds will bring Team New Horizons closers to exceeding our goal!
How you can raise money
- Outside of participating in the walk, you can contribute by setting up events to raise donations.
- Organize a dinner at your home. Take this time to share stories or talk about multiple sclerosis.
- With many of these walks during spring and early summer, gather your neighbors to hold a yard/garage sale to donate all or portions of the money earned.
- Host a bake sale with the PTA at your child’s school. Make sure to hand out information to share with students.
- Support your local MS organization by arranging events that are fun and entertaining. People are more inclined to give in a situation that fostered joy and laughter.
Want to help in other ways outside of fundraising?
Sharing information and educating others about multiple sclerosis is equally important. As someone touched with multiple sclerosis...start a blog, share your story, be an inspiration. Whether you are a survivor or a loved one is, I recommend you always advocate for our cause.
By showing and reminding people about the seriousness of multiple sclerosis and how debilitating it can be on a life, we can raise more money and gather more aid.
Volunteer at your local organization.
