I have been through the highs and I have been through the lows of having Multiple Sclerosis. I would not have written a book if I did not think that we had it in us to fight this disease with all of our ability. I know we will never let it win.

Believe is persistence. Persistence will pay off. The correct diet and the right exercise regimen will bring results. It may take longer for some than others or different diets from one another, but it can work for you. Doing so complements conventional medicine that, after talking with your doctor, can help MS patients live better.

We all have only one life to life on this planet so we must make it count. We can manage it the way we want. It won’t be easy, but it is possible and that’s all that matters. A mindset that your body is under your control will assist you in living a happy and productive life. I know it’s so difficult sometimes to even want to get out of bed, but with just one life to live there is no better time than the present.

A great motivator for me is to live with the purpose of being an example for others. This can mean being a source of inspiration for other MS patients for that they too can live a successful and fulfilling life with MS. It can also mean to strive to be an example to others without MS by showing your drive and determination to live the life you’ve always wanted without MS stopping you in your tracks.

Never think that you are alone in your fight. If you ever need a pick-me-up to get back to the positive mindset that will lead you to a healthier life, there are numerous support systems around the country and the world ready to help you in your journey. My Facebook page is another form of support that is a community of MS patients and those affected by MS. This community is full of interaction between people all around the globe asking and answering questions, getting tips and advice about new foods or exercises to try, and much more. We can use these interactions and new bits of information to get ourselves to a place that we desire to be.

Never give up.

In Chapter 10 of my book, MS – Living Symptom Free, I talk about changing your mindset starting now. There is this and much more in my book for living a life MS symptom free.

So true, Daryl! I needed this reminder today. Sometimes our group on Facebook helps me with more than just my MS. It helps get through other things that life, and others, throw at you when you least expect it. Not dealing with these things in a positive way could trigger the MS, but with support systems like these and your book, it does remind us that we are in control of at least the way we process it all either positively or negatively for ourselves. That has helped me SO much.
